The Aztec was the second model brought into mainstream production. It was first produced in 1980, and was one of the longest running models, being produced for some 19 years, until 1999 (although a small number were, also, sold in the early part of 2000 as well).

The earlier models were produced in the same terracotta and white canvas colour as the soon to follow Pullmans (pictures 1 and 2) but, from around 1996 onwards, the majority were produced with the more popular green and white colour scheme, which continued until production ceased, in late 1999 / early 2000. As can be seen from the other pictures; internal colour schemes were somewhat more varied.

In the Dimensions / Statistics above, the information is, in the main, divided into three rows; Mark 1, Mark 2 and Mark 3. Mark 1 models ran from 1980 to 1988, Mark 2 models from 1989 to 1995, and Mark 3 from 1996 to 2000.

The Aztec remains one of the more popular older models in the Pennine range, and we sell more of these than any other model. There are a number of reasons for this; firstly, the Aztec was an entry level model, and, as such, good quality models can be purchased, second hand, and with a little patience, for between £500 and £600, although good examples have also been known to fetch between £1,400 and £1,500. Secondly, the Aztec has much less to go wrong with it than many higher specification models. The water pump is manual, there is no fridge, and, unless retro fitted, no 12V or 240V electrical system. Finally, there is the issue of size. The Aztec, when folded, is just 2.87m long (including drawbar) 1.73m wide, and 1.14m high, meaning it fits into the smallest of garages, tows like it isn't even there, and can be easily manouvered around by one person.

As Blue Sky have always dealt in Pennines, this site, as well as the Blue Sky blog already include quite a lot of information on the Aztec, and there is little point in reproducing it all here. For anyone wishing to find out more about these excellent little folding campers, you can do so as follows:

Feel free to take a look at the review of the Aztec, posted on the Blue Sky blog (this also includes a walk through video)

If you wish, you can check out the Gallery Page, which has pictures of our recent Aztec projects. It, also, has a pictorial guide as to the setup procedure for a Pennine Aztec,

If you require a manual for an Aztec, or wish to check out any basic details, such as dimensions, weights or accessories, the links for these are in the 'Paperwork' box above. Feel free to take a look, and download them, if required. We also have a number of in house videos, for this model, which can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
